Previous Energy Studies
The most common energy component that we scan for our energy studies is turbine blades. Although turbine blades are the most common component many other energy-creating components can be scanned and analyzed as well. Turbine blades used to be measured using CMM machines. The CMM machines are slow in comparison to our blue and white light scanners. These scanners take a fraction of the time the CMM machine requires. This scan data can then be used to generate reports compared to the original CAD data or 2D drawing. We are able to create a reverse engineered CAD model or create a modified CAD model to meet new needs. Please contact us with any questions you have regarding our energy studies via our contact form or call us at (248) 853-7700.
Reverse Engineering of Turbine Bucket
One of North America’s biggest power generation systems manufacturers wanted to design a new manufacturing process to produce steam turbine buckets. Since it was a tryout process and the old turbine buckets were made by a different process, the old turbines were 3d scanned to generate the math data for them… read more
