Gage/Fixture Certification Service

Fixture Certification is one of our core services. Using our portable CMM or laser tracker, we can certify a wide variety of fixtures and gauges. Certification can be done using part drawings or just the CAD itself. Our portable CMM and Laser trackers provide fast, accurate measurements.

Due to a lot of manufacturing being automated, a lot depends upon the tools in the process. The workpiece holding fixtures need timely calibration and certification. This is because they have moving parts. Furthermore, they often go out of the manufacturer’s quality specifications, by either mishandling or wear and tear. Applications 3D uses the most advanced onsite measurement hardware and software.

Whether you are doing annual fixture certifications, troubleshooting a new one, or doing detailed machine alignments, we have the tools to do it!

Onsite Fixture Adjustment/ Re-shimming/ Certification

Conveniently located in the metro Detroit area of Michigan, we are in the hub of automobile and other manufacturing plants. We are able to go to local companies and offer onsite inspections. Using our FARO Quantum arm and the Leica Laser Tracker, we can check fixtures at your facility very quickly for accuracy and repeatability, and benefit greatly from its mobility. If the fixture or gauge has deteriorated and is out of the tolerance specifications, we will adjust the shims in the risers and re-certify the tooling.

I approached Applications 3D with an existing 3D scan file that I didn’t know what to do with. After speaking with Raminder over the phone, we scheduled an appointment same day to review the file. He looked at my file, and gave me a quote for his service - to produce a Step file that could be used to CNC a master mold from the shape that I had scanned. He was finished with the design in 1 week, but there was a slight issue which I brought to his attention, and he immediately worked on creating a solution, which was resolved by the end of that same day!! I honestly couldn’t be more happy with the result, and very much look forward to working together with Raminder & his company again for more 3D modeling work.
