Reverse engineering

Our reverse engineering process allows you to obtain the CAD model for a physical part. This CAD model can then be a complete replica of the existing part or can be modified to meet new needs.

Laser Scanning

With our laser scanning service, get anything scanned and converted into a working CAD model that fits your need. The scanned data can not only be used to create a CAD model but as well as inspections to ensure your product is meeting its specified tolerances. In fact, portable laser scanning can come to your facility for same-day scanning.

Laser Scanning Workflow

Parts are first digitized using one of our 3D Scanning, non-contact devices. These devices all yield a high level of accuracy and which one is used depends on the part and the desired outcome of the part. Once scanned the resulting point cloud is processed into an STL mesh. Then we can use it for reverse engineering or inspection. Finally, the file will be delivered to you as STP, IGS, etc.

Our Faro laser scanner arm is a completely portable 3D scanning solution. Thanks to its quick and precise scanning we are able to yield a quick turnaround.

I approached Applications 3D with an existing 3D scan file that I didn’t know what to do with. After speaking with Raminder over the phone, we scheduled an appointment same day to review the file. He looked at my file, and gave me a quote for his service - to produce a Step file that could be used to CNC a master mold from the shape that I had scanned. He was finished with the design in 1 week, but there was a slight issue which I brought to his attention, and he immediately worked on creating a solution, which was resolved by the end of that same day!! I honestly couldn’t be more happy with the result, and very much look forward to working together with Raminder & his company again for more 3D modeling work.
